What does IR-A, IR-B and IR-C mean?

IR-A

Infrared radiation has a short wave, medium wave and long wave. Another name for it short wave infrared radiation is: IR-A. IR-A has the deepest effect in the skin compared to IR-B and IR-C. The IR-A infrared lamps therefore also fall under therapeutic light. IR-A contains 700 to 1400 nm (nanometer). The wavelength is expressed in nanometers. Below 700nm we speak of visible light. Infrared light is not visible, but short-wave infrared light comes closest to visible light and therefore has a very good therapeutic effect. Consider reducing muscle and joint pain. The closer the radiation comes to visible light, the shorter the wavelengths and the more powerful the radiation is.

IR-B and IR-C
IR-B is medium wave infrared light and IR-C is long wave infrared light. These two types of infrared are further away from visible light, which means that they have a less deep effect than IR-A. With a wavelength of 1400 to 3000 nm, medium wave radiation penetrates into the upper dermis. This is good for the blood circulation, perspiration and detoxification of the body for example viruses. For a cosmetic treatment or effective skin cleansing a simple infrared lamp with IR-C (long wave infrared) is often sufficient. The heat penetrates into the upper layers of the skin and is sufficient to open the pores. This makes it easier to remove dirt that is clogged in your pores. This radiation is good for the skin, ensures good blood circulation and increased perspiration, but is mainly used for relaxation and warmth.
